Which platform should I used?

by - April 05, 2019

Hello guys, welcome back!

Today I'm going to be sharing with you the different platforms that you can use to start your blog. Like I said on my post : Creating your own blog-Basic Knowledge, this step is important because you have to choose the best platform that suits your goals. They're a lot of platforms some with monthly payments and some are free. The most use platforms are:

1. Blogger

This platform was bought it from Google in 2003 and the blogs are hosted by Google and generally accessed from a subdomain of blogspot.com. That is what appear in your URL when you start. You can let it that way or you can buy your domain and add it to blogger to make it look more professional and personal. I personally use blogger.com, but I have an account in every one of the options I mention since they all offer different things I wanted to know how work they platforms. It's completely free and you can make the amount of blogger you want, I mean you can do up to 100 blogs. Nice, right? Yeah!

When it comes to the design of the blog, you can upload the template that you want, use one of the templates blogger provide or you can create your own using css and html. I still don't know a lot about this, but I'm always looking for ways to learn how to use css and html because it give you more to play with and create a unique and personal design.

Wordpress is the platform that more people use. It have a free version and upgrades plans.  WordPress is a free and open-source content management system based on PHP & MySQL. It have some features like a plugin architecture and a template system. As you know, wordpress is almost always associated with blogging but that is not the only function, this platform also supports other types of web content like online stores.  They are 2 wordpress, there is wordpress.com and wordpress.org. In the wordpress.com you can sign up for free or choose one of the upgrades plans while the wordpress.org is a software. Even though wordpress is the most use of all of this 5 options I didn't like it that much, I don't know at least for beginners is a little confusing and you need to know more about web design. For blogging and personal use the prices and features are:

For business the prices and features are:

3. Wix

This is a web development platform that is originated from a Israeli Company. The platform allows you to create HTML5 websites and mobile sites through the use of online drag and drop tools. It's similar to wordpress but instead of using the open source it use proprietary softwares and themes to create your page. It's super easy to use and beginner friendly. Like I said you can use the free version but if you want to connect or create your domain you need to pick one of the upgrades with the monthly subscription.
